Michael Smith is a New York based Director with over 20 years of experience in the film and television industry.  A  Long Island native, Michael attended the University of Michigan (Class of '93) where he often returns as a guest lecturer on industry topics. Michael began his career immediately after graduation by working with a variety of film and television shows including The Sopranos, Man On The Moon, and Woody Allen's "Everyone Says I Love You." Michael began producing and directing various episodes of Law and Order: Criminal Intent shortly after he joined the crew in 2004. Over the past ten years Michael’s directing portfolio has grown to include episodes of Suits, White Collar, Burn Notice, Covert Affairs, and How To Get Away with Murder. He has also served as Producer/Director on full seasons of  Satisfaction, The Mysteries of Laura and Law and Order SVU.  Michael lives in New Jersey with his wife, Tracy and their two children.
